Neiman Marcus is having a sale. Here are some of each size (0-16) I like…..Most under $150

I was surfing the net and read that Neiman Marcus was having a sale. And you know how I love a sale. Most of the press on their sales was referring to the Beauty section because they had a lot of really great gifts with purchase. And not the usually crappy kind you get from department stores but some really nice gifts and full sizes of products. Also they were offering free shipping for orders over $150. How can you beat that?

So after I ordered some make-up I needed, I perused the sale section to look for dresses. I’ve been having a dress obsession lately as some of my previous posts can reveal.

Well I found some cool dresses. One I even purchased. But to be fair to all of you who read this I found some examples of dresses, one in each size from 0-16, for all of you. Ain’t that nice of me. It has nothing to do with my shopoholic tendencies 😉

So below are some of the things I found. And unlike most lists that go from small sizes to larger sizes, I decided to start at the large sizes and list the rest in descending size order. Enjoy.

Let 9/11 remind us “We are only here for a Moment”. Make the moment count.

It’s raining here today in the metro New York City area. I like to remember the things the old folks use to tell me about rain when I was little. It rained because God was crying. Whether you believe in a higher being or not, I think God or Mother Nature or The Earth is crying over how we as a race (human beings) have treated one another.

Of course today reminds me of where I was 6 years ago on September 11, 2001 and how my fellow New Yorkers and Americans were treated that day. But whether you are an American or live in another country, there is probably a similar day in your culture that may bring the same kind of memories.

We are only here for a moment. The question is in that moment can we make the world a better place. I’m not sure but I do think every little bit helps. Oprah had a show on the other day about Giving. She talked about giving of ourselves to help others lift themselves up. One of the charities she spoke about was Kiva.org.

Kiva.org let’s you loan money to the working  poor. Kiva lets you connect with and loan money to unique small businesses in the developing world. By choosing a business on Kiva.org, you can “sponsor a business” and help the world’s working poor make great strides towards economic independence.

I really liked the idea so I sponsored a woman named Deborah Charles. She is a 31-year-old mother of two in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania who operates a beauty salon and sells clothes (traditional attire commonly known as kanga). Her salon provides all sorts of common styles to her clients ranging from weaving, hair washing, and other beauty-related services. Her salon can now accommodate three customers at a time, and due to the increasing number of her customers, Deborah wants to get more equipment to cater to more customers at one time.

I picked her because I also sell clothes and I love beauty. No matter where you live in the world I think it is a universal female desire to want to look beautiful. Fashion and beauty can seem frivoulous to some but it can do alot for ones self esteem. A new outfit or hairstyle can give a person the lift they need to get over road blocks in their lives. Hopefully with the money I and others have lent her Deborah will be able to grow her business and make a better life for herself and her family.

Check out the site and see if you can make a difference in someone’s life. Cause we’re only her for a moment. Make the moment count.

Peace

Kelly Osbourne speaks out against size zero

Today is the 6 year anniversary of 9/11. It is a day that should help us remember we are only here for a moment. We should be accepting of ourselves and others.

I like how Catwalk Queen: Kelly Osbourne speaks out against size zero.

Good for her. Someone has to speak out that size 0 shouldn’t be a goal. If you are naturally skinny ok but if you are naturally a size 16 than that should be ok as well. Size acceptance.

Tired of handwashing your Bra!! Seriously…This isn’t an ad. I just love this item.

So I’m flipping thru one of my favorite magazine while I was on a long car ride with my family on vacation…….Yeah it was scary 😮 and I needed a distraction. So I even looked at the back pages of the magazine which usually has ads for plastic surgery, laser hair removal and the ONE product that will solve your most irritating problem in a single package.

As I was perusing the back pages I saw an ad for the BraBABY™.

It is a cool plastic device that has a unique flow thru design that holds your bra in place and helps it keep it’s shape as it goes thru the spin cycle in your washing machine. That means NO MORE HAND WASHING!! You can just throw your bras into the laundry and not worry that the $50 (or more dollars) you spent on your unmentionables will go to waste.

I know what you are saying. This girl sounds like an advertisement. She must be getting paid for this but since I think only three people read this blog (and two of them are related to me) you can be sure this is from the heart…..Or you are thinking…….Blah blah blah….another item in my closet that I won’t use but will take up space. I use mine all the time. So seriously go to your nearest Linens-n-Things to see it in person or look at the BraBABY™ site and see what you think.

I bought one and so did my two sisters. We are all big boobed girls and take pride in buying good bras (usually from Nordstrom because they have a great selection). Cause you need something well made to help keep the sisters (that is my nickname for my boobs) from being kneepads.

So try one and let me know if you like it. Cause the 10 minutes you save from not hand washing can be spent doing something you really enjoy……..Like reading my blog ;)…..LOL

Tina Knowles Fashion line…My opinion

I may be naive or just outta the loop but I thought I was the only person who thought Beyonce’s Mom’s Fashion line is “shiteous”! (look at Perez Hilton’s blog on it: Celebrity gossip juicy celebrity rumors Hollywood gossip blog from Perez Hilton » Blog Archive » If You Are Easily Offended…..  )

How do people like this get fashion businesses? I know the name…blah blah….But seriously people aren’t there some people on Beyonce or Tina Knowles’ team who are telling them that the designs are SHITTY!! Some designer who can come in and help a girl out!! Ughhhhhhhh
