I was browsing as I do EVERYDAY…LOL…NET-A-PORTER.COM and saw these light green Ombre Patent Leather Pumps by Rubert Sanderson on sale for $357 (down from $595). I really can’t wear heels any longer but for one of you who can I think they could be a nice addition to your Fall ’08 wardrobe. Any takers?

I loved the Dolce & Gabbana painted organza gown Rose McGowan wore at the amFar event the other night.
I love the Clothing and Accessories as a canvas. I’ve always thought of Clothing as Art but this is taking it to a new level by mixing what people consider “real” art with Fashion to create Fashion2. It reminded me of the Prada line for Spring/Summer 2008 that mixed Art with Prada’s usual beautiful clothes. Below are some of my favorite items from that line.
I gotta agree with Perez Hilton on this one. Gwyneth heard the call of the Romans and I’m envious. Ms Paltrow wore these shoes at a photo shoot to promote her New Movie “Two Lovers”:
So I guess I’m getting to like Gladiator shoes….Who know 😉
How bout you guys? Love? Or hate them?
I was surfing when I came upon these Flip Flops:
- Water friendly synthetic nubuck upper
- Compression molded ethyl vinyl acetate footbed
- Functional bottle opener on bottom of sole
- Rubber outsole
They have a FUNCTIONAL BOTTLE OPENER ON THE BOTTOM OF THE SOLE!!!
You will never again be at a loss for a bottle opener.
I just think this is such a cute idea……LOL 😀
Gladiator sandals are everywhere these days. On Celebrities, in the Fashion Mags and even in Blogs 😉 To be honest I really haven’t liked this type of shoe. I thought it cut a woman’s leg off, disturbing the line from her shin to her foot. For those of us 5’4″ and under, that could make us look even shorter. I also didn’t like all the straps over the foot. I thought it looked too busy and distracting. Take for example Sarah Jessica Parker’s feet in the promo picture from the Wedding scene in the “Sex and the City” movie coming out at the end of May 2008.
I just hate those shoes with the Wedding Dress!! I like funky and unusual. And as some of you might know, I have a deep love and respect for Particia Fields (If you don’t know, you can read about it here). But these shoes with this dress DO NOT work for me :-& .
Having said all those negative things about Gladiator shoes, I came upon a few yesterday on Piperlime.com that I really like. They aren’t too strappy across the top of the foot and I think they cut the disturbance of your leg line to a minimum.
Bettye Muller Baccarat regular price $420.00 sale price $335.50
DV by Dolce Vita Carnival-30 $65.00
Nine West Rossinis $79.00
Via Spiga Undo $165.00
I’m seriously considering getting one of these pair of Gladiator sandals. Since sandals are all I wear these days, I at least like to get ones that are fashionable.
PS If you plan on visiting my eBay store, take note that I will be posting a bunch of new Shoes by Friday May 23. Stay tuned 🙂
I’ve noticed for awhile that Ombre has become a trend this year. I really like this trend. I think I really became aware of it and how much I liked it when I saw Gwen Stefani’s wedding dress by John Galliano for Dior back in 2002.
Before I left for vacation I bookmarked several Ombre items I found that I liked but I’ll post some of those another time. This post is about some items I recently found that incorporate the Ombre trend with another popular trend I like Patent Leather.
Bloomingdales showed an Ombre and Patent Leather bag by Maxx in their recent catalog.
Maxx New York Women’s Degradé Ombre Large Tote Bag – $198
Comes in Purple as well.
Also at Bloomingdale’s was this bag by L.A.M.B (seems Gwen likes the Ombre trend in things other than Wedding Dresses)
The above bags can be yours with a 20% discount by using the code FLOWER now thru May 21st at Bloomingdales.com.
But Bloomingdales is not the only place offering items combining these two trends. Some of my other favorite shopping sites have some cool Patent and Ombre items. Enjoy!

OMG you guys there is now a site called Shoetube.tv. Newsweek summerizes what the site is about this way:
This first Web channel for shoe addicts combines “news” reports on the latest shoe styles, sneak previews of spring lines and clever woman-in-the-street interviews. You don’t have to have Imelda Marcos’s shoe closet to love it.”
Newsweek, February 18, 2008
My initial read on the site is that it looks like youtube for shoe fanatics plus written material (and boy do I know some real shoe fanatics……Of course I’m not talking about me 😉 ). They have sweepstakes so readers can win shoes, blogs reviewing new shoes and of course little video clips showing and reviewing new shoes. Check it out here and let me know what you think.
